Mayor Maybe: Return of the Pane
The comeback nobody asked for, but somehow keeps happening. From resignations to reputations, it’s a Taupō tale served with scones, silence, and just enough shade to build a pergola in Kuratau.

There’s a pane in the window. Looks polished. Speaks well. Says all the right nothings. But lean in, and you’ll notice  behind that glass? Not much reflection.

Some say he’s changed. Others say he just changed outfits.

Meanwhile, the real towns;  the ones with potholes, not polished brochures, haven’t seen him since the last rates bill went up. Still, pane makes appearances. Sometimes in meetings, sometimes in mirrored glass. Just never where the awkward questions live.

And when the public starts asking, “What’s the plan?”
Pane just says, “Stay tuned,” and hearts the message.

They say the mayor can’t do much anyway.
That’s exactly how you know who wants the seat.

Meet Pane
The window that looks transparent… until you ask what’s behind it.
He’s smooth, reflective, and crack-resistant  until pressure builds. Then? Shards.
