About Lunch Club Letters
Lunch Club Letters is a free quarterly community journal celebrating the stories, people and places that make Taupō unique.
Published every three months, each edition explores a mix of local history, architecture, community life, cafés, books and the occasional bit of humour. Some stories look back, others look ahead, but all are chosen with one goal in mind: to encourage curiosity about the place we call home.
Rather than chasing headlines, Lunch Club Letters aims to tell stories worth slowing down for—stories you might read over lunch, with a coffee, or while waiting for a friend.
No two issues are exactly the same. One edition might feature a forgotten piece of Taupō’s history, another an architect, local business, café, artist, community project or an interesting person. If a story captures the spirit of our district, it’s likely to find its way into these pages.
Copies are available free from selected locations around Taupō, with additional stories and updates published here on the website.
Thanks for reading, and welcome to the Lunch Club.
